If
both eBay and PrestoStore market and
promote items for sale online using many of
the same techniques, why did PrestoStore sell
more in our
challenge?
PrestoStore provides each
merchant with true seller-independence, so PrestoStore sellers
do not compete directly with each
other.
In addition, PrestoStore provides
each seller with their own, unique web
store -
each with its own search bar, shopping
cart, and checkout system - so sellers can
maximize add-on sales revenues on each
customer transaction.
In our
challenge, many
PrestoStore customers ordered several
different items from our web store
within a single transaction.
It
should be noted that this is an
unscientific study.
Price, product demand and
external competition all impact how
items sell online.
However, our results show that for
many of eBay's "PowerSellers"
(that is, those who continuously sell
on eBay) PrestoStore's independent web
store approach
to selling online can actually produce
better results, at a lower
cost.
If
you are
not looking to completely replace
eBay,
we recommend using PrestoStore to
complement your eBay listings.
First, list all your items for
sale in PrestoStore (there are no
listing fees).
Then, selectively choose items
to also sell on eBay, whenever you
wish.
When an item sells in PrestoStore, you
don't need to pay eBay's final value
fees, and you can adjust your strategy
as needed. Experimenting
this way allows you to find the most
optimal online selling approach,
maximizing your sales at the lowest cost
possible.
The key to success for any online
seller is to have access to
alternative services, so you can sell
more and pay less.
